Intentional Fire Website

One of the biggest barriers to getting more good fire on the ground isn’t regulatory or logistical — it’s cultural. Decades of fire suppression messaging have left the public skeptical of intentional fire, making it harder to build the community support that prescribed and cultural burning programs depend on. 

CWI built intentionalfire.org to change that — an educational resource that gives the public, policymakers, and practitioners a clear, accessible entry point into the science and practice of intentional fire. The site covers the what, why, and how of prescribed fire and cultural burning; features audio and video from a diverse range of experts and practitioners; showcases real project case studies; and offers concrete steps for anyone who wants to advance intentional fire in their own community. 

THE IMPACT: A public resource that shifts the conversation around fire from fear to understanding, and from understanding to action.
