Resilient Home Fund

Connecting California Homeowners to Wildfire Resilience Funding

Research shows that one of the major hurdles to property-level wildfire mitigations is the upfront cost to get it done. There is a gap between the financial burden of home hardening and zone zero implementation and availability of capital to get it done. There are largely unknown resources available to California homeowners in high-risk wildfire zones. From rebates, grants, and other incentive programs, there are funding sources available for home hardening. The landscape is fragmented, confusing, and nearly impossible to navigate without expert help. Most homeowners don’t know what’s available, let alone how to access it.

Resilienthomefund.org is a free online tool, built by CWI, that helps California homeowners discover wildfire risk reduction funding opportunities matched to their specific property and location. Through a short guided quiz, homeowners receive a personalized list of grants, rebates, and financing programs they may qualify for — cutting through the noise to surface the resources most relevant to them. The tool is designed to lower the barrier between awareness and action, turning passive concern into a concrete next step.

THE IMPACT: A scalable, regularly-updated, self-service resource that connects homeowners to existing funding, expanding the reach of programs that are already available but chronically underutilized.
