Part 4 of 4: Interconnecting Digital Standards for Wildfire Intelligence
By James Puerini and Cole Von Glahn

Imagine a world where the rules of the road changed every time you crossed a state line: red meaning "go" in one state and "stop" in another. In many ways, our current wildfire data ecosystem is a shade of this chaos, fragmented across systems and jurisdictions.
The fourth and final installment in our series with the Environmental Policy Innovation Center (EPIC) explores how we can build a "Digital Highway System" for wildfire. By designing for interoperability, we can ensure that data from federal, state, and Tribal partners works together seamlessly.
Specifically, we examine how establishing effective "rules of the road" for data and technology can transform independent "telegraph towers" into a functional,
interconnected digital highway.
