Fire Smart Community Pilot
A Replicable Model for Community-Led Resilience
The Fire Smart Community Incline Pilot is a cornerstone project within the Tahoe Sierra Wildfire Resilience Collaborative, a cross-boundary initiative funded by the Moore Foundation to align partnerships, resources, and knowledge across 2.4 million acres to advance region-wide wildfire resilience. Within this effort, CWI coordinates regional partners, connects SPARK project insights, and captures detailed case studies to support broader regional replicability of successful outcomes. This includes co-developing the Fire Smart Community Playbook with the Tahoe Fund, a 10-step, data-informed methodology that distills lessons from Incline Village, NV into a practical guide for community-led wildfire resilience. This effort supports the broader wildfire resilience landscape by offering a scalable, replicable model that demonstrates how place-based collaboration can move from concept to implementation across the West.
