FireLines
Mapping the Wildfire Resilience Ecosystem
FireLines is a first-of-its-kind relational, graph-based database currently in development by CWI to map and interpret the wildfire resilience network across the Western U.S. Designed to address fragmented and siloed information, FireLines will collect and aggregate data from nonprofits, universities, funders, and government agencies to reveal who is working where, on what activities, and with which partners or resources. Using semantic search, machine learning, and multi-hop network queries, the platform will make it possible to visualize cross-boundary linkages, identify redundancies, trace funding flows, generate inventories of mitigation and data efforts, and conduct gap analyses for underserved landscapes. CWI is creating a dynamic tool that will improve coordination, sharpen strategic planning, and enable more targeted, equitable investment in wildfire resilience.
